Thirty years of making systems work for small businesses.
I'm Founder Name Here, and Cage Free Code is what happens when a consultant who has spent a career implementing other people's software finally gets to build the right thing instead.
The short version
I was a digital business consultant and a CRM consultant before I wrote a line of the code you'll see on this site. For thirty years my job has been implementation: taking what a business wants to do and making it actually happen inside software — choosing the platform, configuring it, migrating onto it, training the team, and living with the result.
Ontraport became my specialty along the way. I know how it models a contact, a purchase and a sequence well enough to build code that fits beside it, which is where the first offer comes from.
I'm not a vibe coder. I didn't discover software last year. What changed last year is that the cost of writing custom code fell far enough that the thing I always wanted to give clients — a system built entirely around their business, that they own — became affordable to the businesses I've always worked with.
What I actually do for you
The code is the delivery mechanism. The consulting is the value.
When a business comes to me to leave a rented platform, the wrong move is to recreate the old site in new code. You'd be paying to preserve every compromise the old software forced on you. So the engagement starts with the business: what you sell, to whom, at what price, and how people move from stranger to member to advocate. Offers get sharpened. Dead weight gets dropped. Then the system gets built to match — and the business comes out a notch or two further up than it went in.
That's what makes it worth hiring me rather than a developer, and rather than a prompt. Building a page is easy now. Knowing which six of your four hundred features actually matter, and moving a live business across without anything going dark, is not.
How I work
- Priced before we start. A fixed quote after the Stack Audit. No hourly meter.
- In your name. Your repository, your hosting, your API keys. I have access because you granted it, and you can take it back.
- Documented as I go. A runbook and a recorded walkthrough are part of the deliverable, not an extra.
- Honest about what to keep. You'll get a written list of which subscriptions are worth paying for. Some always are.
- Around after launch, if you want. A Care & Growth Plan is available and cancellable any month. Plenty of clients take it. Nobody has to.
Two things I've built that you can use right now
A live demo of a complete membership platform ↗ built for a coaching business, and The Vote Files ↗, a brand Cage Free Code owns that puts the complete voting record of every member of Congress since 1789 in front of anyone who wants it. Both are on the Work page, with notes on how they were made.
The experience behind the judgement.
Implementation
Three decades of taking software from "chosen" to "actually running the business" — configuration, migration, training, and the years afterwards when the decisions get tested.
Digital business & CRM
Helping small businesses grow online: offers, funnels, follow-up, retention. Then choosing and shaping the CRM that had to carry all of it.
Ontraport
Years inside one platform, deep enough to build alongside it. Most Ontraport users never touch what it can do with custom code beside it.
What happens if you get hit by a bus?
Your business keeps running and somebody else takes over on Monday. That isn't a hope — it's how every build is structured from day one.
The code is in your GitHub account. The runbook explains how it's deployed. The recorded walkthrough explains how it's put together. Standard technology means the pool of people who can pick it up is enormous. The full guarantee →
Ask any SaaS company to promise you that. When a platform shuts down a feature, changes its pricing or gets acquired, you find out in an email. When I'm unavailable, you already have everything.
Let's look at your stack.
Every engagement starts with a Stack Audit — $500, credited in full against the build. Or just start a conversation.
